{"id":4125,"date":"2013-01-22T16:51:00","date_gmt":"2013-01-22T15:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.w-t-w.org\/en\/?page_id=4125"},"modified":"2014-02-07T19:21:33","modified_gmt":"2014-02-07T18:21:33","slug":"w-t-w-anti-corruption-working-group","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.w-t-w.org\/en\/w-t-w-anti-corruption-working-group\/","title":{"rendered":"How can women work against corruption?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Say &#8220;NO&#8221; to Corruption<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you see something, say something!\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>People often think that corruption is \u201cjust a way of life\u201d, but every society, sector and individual would benefit from saying \u201cNO\u201d to this crime.<br \/>\nHere are some examples of how you can say \u201cNO\u201d to corruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ratify and enact the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w-t-w.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/2_UNCAC_08-50026_E.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">UN Convention<\/a> against Corruption. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncaccoalition.org\/about-the-uncac\" target=\"_blank\">UNCAC<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong>Countries that successfully attack corruption are far more legitimate in the eyes of their citizens, creating stability and trust.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Know what\u00a0UNCAC requires of your government and its officials.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Rooting out corruption allows social and economic development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Educate the public about the government&#8217;s responsibility to be corruption-free. <\/strong>Equal and fair justice for all is a crucial element for a country&#8217;s stability and growth. It also helps to effectively fight crime.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Raise awareness with the public, media and government about the costs of corruption for key services such as health and education. <\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>All of society benefits from functioning basic services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Engage the youth of your country.\u00a0 Teach them what ethical behaviour is, what corruption is and how to fight it, and teach them to demand their right to education.<\/strong><br \/>\nEnsuring that future generations of citizens are brought up to expect corruption-free countries is one of the best tools to ensure a brighter future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Report incidents of corruption.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Create an environment where the rule of law prevails.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Anonymous Whistleblowing<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.w-t-w.org\/en\/anti-corruption-2\/w-t-w-anti-corruption-working-group\/anonymous-whistleblowing-in-south-africa\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>What South Africa Suggests<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Refuse to participate in any activities that are not legal and transparent.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Increases both domestic and foreign investment.
