Recently the organization has invested in social entrepreneurship programs, STEM subjects and project-based learning.\u00a0 Girls as young as 9 can earn badges in customer insights, financial literacy and product degin.<\/p>\n<p>The Girl Scouts hopes to reshape the female landscape for an entire generation, so male and female leaders finally find equal footing.<\/p>\n<p>But we rarely get a peek inside this national movement, to see whether these teachings are really preparing young American girls for future success.<\/p>\n<p>Are we pushing kids into the board room too soon?<\/p>\n<p>Child entrepreneurship is such a recent phenomenon that experts say there are few reports that assess their impact.\u00a0 Teaching entrepreneurship and cultivating leadership skills in children is not a bad thing.\u00a0 It&#8217;s up to individual troops balance boardroom with traditional fun, like camping, volunteering and crafts.<\/p>\n<p>The entrepreneurial child is the child who is flexible, who can find more than one solution to a problem.\u00a0 Adaptive thinking is especially important in a world where so many things are changing so quickly.<\/p>\n<p>A lesson to us all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.w-t-w.org\/en\/be-prepared-the-girl-scout-model-encorporates-entrepreneurship\/girl-scout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-21568\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-21568\" src=\"http:\/\/www.w-t-w.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Girl-Scout-169x300.jpg\" alt=\"Girl Scout\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.w-t-w.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Girl-Scout-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/www.w-t-w.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Girl-Scout.jpg 307w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 169px) 100vw, 169px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today\u2019s Girl Scouts of the USA isn\u2019t all campfires and cookies.
