Aniston’s role in ‘Cake’ as a woman suffering from chronic pain and depression has already earned her Golden Globe, SAG and Critics’ Choice nominations.<\/p>\n

While promoting the film, Aniston’s had to field questions about the “likability” of the character, a question she says “men don\u2019t get asked.” Men in her business also don’t get regularly quizzed on marriage and kids, although those inquiries hound Aniston.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t see a lot of men getting asked: \u2018Why aren\u2019t you married? Why aren\u2019t you having children?\u2019 You don\u2019t get the \u2018Well, they seem to play the same thing over and over again,\u2019 and some of them do.\u00a0 We\u2019re very much a sexist society,\u201d she said. \u201cWomen are still not paid as much as men … I\u2019ve been up against that in negotiations myself.”<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Unlike men in Hollywood, women are faced with distorted beauty standards and unfair criticism.<\/p>\n

Aniston said, \u201cI really do think you\u2019re damned if you do and damned if you don\u2019t. You either are too fat — \u2018Oh my God, she\u2019s gained weight, getting chubby, mid-40s spread!\u2019 — or \u2018She\u2019s so skeletal, get some meat on her bones!\u2019 I\u2019ve been on too-thin lists. I\u2019ve been on what-happened-to-her lists.\u201d<\/p>\n
