W-T-W Congratulates the Winners of the Cartoon of the Year 2013

Each and every one of our cartoonists deserves a prize.  W-T-W is proud to publish their important and tantalizing work.  From a large pool of distinguished cartoons, voters selected these three:

Doaa Eladl / Egypt

Doaa El Adl is not only a prominent Egyptian cartoonist, but she is also a leader in the effort to make a place for women and for freedom in her country.  WTW celebrates Doaa on our site.  Each of her cartoons deserves an award.  This particular celebration of women was chosen in the first round voting.

3.Prize W-T-W Cartoon of the Year 2013
Anne Derenne / Spain  

Anne Derenne has a delicate but sharp pen.  She focuses among her many passions on gender roles and the impact of the economy on women.  This charming cartoon illustrates where it all began.
